Catherine Ko Chen (b. San Jose, California, US) is a painter based in London, UK. She graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management, and participated in the second cohort of Apollo Painting School.

Her practise explores thresholds and context shifts, the act of looking and how the viewer might also look. Layering, surface, and luminosity create unexpected structures that attention can move through. The paintings invite seeing while keeping something hidden.
